Resotek - Projects

Resource Planner This program was designed to replace a wall-display, which represented up to 3-months of activity; showing which resources are allocated to each job. The 'manual' display needed constant updating, and was only visible to anyone directly in front of it. By accessing a database, the display could be scrolled back and forward to any date (and up/down for more rows), and the display automatically resized to the screen size; big for the flat panel display, or smaller for anyone's PC, either locally or on other sites via the company's network. more..
GPS & mobile data This used a program written to run on a mobile GPS device, to log the positions of streetlamps during an inspection for a local council. Another program on a PC transferred the data collected into another database. more..
Test/Measurement results database This project included a database created years ago, but the original developer was unavailable when it needed updating for new functionality. The database was converted to a newer version, and tables, queries & forms were modified, and new code written. An Excel spreadsheet was also created to provide a formatted printout of selected data. It is planned to port the database structure, with new data entry forms, to a tablet computer, so that values from on-site measurements may be entered 'on the go'.
Timesheets/Payslips/Sage accounts link In this case, a spreadsheet file has separate sheets for entering weekly timesheet data, another used to print payslips, another to record weekly figures for yearly totals, another for recording invoices, and another for printing invoices, credit notes, etc. After entering the timesheet data (each week), by selecting a contractor and clicking a 'Pay' button, the payslip sheet is filled in for printing, and the figures are copied to the right week on the 'year' sheet; the invoice details are also added to the SLSDAY sheet. By selecting a row on the SLSDAY sheet (for an invoice), then some code and formulae cause the details to appear on the INV sheet so the Invoice can be printed - or the details may be exported to a CSV file, for importing into SAGE accounts. Other code copies selected details to another sheet, which is emailed to the bookkeepers who deal with PAYE engineers, and the income tax, national insurance payments, and holiday pay are then added to the sheet. Forms allow daily start/end/lunch times to be entered and the totals calculated, and also the mileage and other expenses to be added.
Orders database In this case, the customer had an existing database to handle orders, and was copying selected data for an order into a spreadsheet to email to their customer. By adding a button to the order display page in the database, the relevant details could be automatically copied to a new spreadsheet, created from a template.
Previous Projects Before concentrating on software solutions, Resotek designed and built PC-controlled systems for functional testing of electronic modules, using programmable instruments and power supplies. It became uneconomic to satify the requirements of the CE marking regulations.
